Tour Plan
Upon your arrival in Lhasa, whether by train or plane, your guide will be there to welcome you and escort you to your hotel. During the journey, travelers have the opportunity to admire the Yarlung Tsangpo River, also known as the Brahmaputra River, which is the longest and largest river in Tibet, as well as the Lhasa River. Once you reach Lhasa, you can take some time to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. If you feel up to it, you may wish to visit Potala Square, where you can enjoy the colorful fountain and capture stunning photographs of the Potala Palace and its surroundings. You will spend the night at a hotel in Lhasa.

Today's itinerary begins with a visit to the Potala Palace, the winter residence of the Dalai Lama. This historic site has been in use since the 7th century, established by the 33rd great king of Tibet. Among its most treasured artifacts are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and the meditation cave associated with the 33rd king. Following this, you will enjoy a welcome dinner at a local Tibetan teahouse or restaurant. After lunch, the tour continues to Jokhang Temple, founded by the 33rd great king in the 7th century to advance the Buddhist faith. Within the temple, you will find the revered statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve, a significant object in Tibetan Buddhism. Surrounding the temple is Barkhor Street, where you can join pilgrims and locals in a kora (circumambulation) and shop for souvenirs. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to savor Tibetan tea with locals in a teahouse. The welcome dinner will be organized accordingly. You will spend the night at your hotel in Lhasa.

In the morning, you will explore Drepung Monastery, one of the esteemed "great three" Gelug monasteries in Tibet, established in 1416 by Jamyang Choge, a prominent disciple of Tsongkhapa. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to see the largest kitchen within the monastery and participate in a Buddhist sculpture carving workshop located nearby. In the afternoon, the itinerary includes a visit to Sera Monastery, another of the "great three" Gelug monasteries. A highlight of this visit is the monks' debate, which takes place from approximately 3 to 5 PM. Additionally, you can tour the Tibetan religious scripture printing house and admire three sand mandalas along with vibrant rock paintings of Buddha within the monastery. You will spend the night at a hotel in Lhasa.

In the morning, embark on a drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. During the journey, you will traverse the Gampala Pass (4790 m), where you can catch a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso (4400 m). This stunning lake is encircled by numerous snow-capped peaks, and in the distance, you will be treated to breathtaking views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7191 m), the tallest mountain near Lhasa.
As we continue, we will pass by the Korola Glacier, which can be seen from the roadside. At Manak Dam Lake, there will be an opportunity to hang prayer flags at Simila Mountain Pass. Our next stop will be Gyantse, historically recognized as Tibet's third-largest city, following Lhasa and Shigatse. In Gyantse, we will explore the renowned Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum, while also enjoying a distant view of Gyangtse Fortress.
After approximately one and a half hours of driving, we will reach Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. Here, we may visit a traditional barley mill and admire the picturesque barley fields, particularly vibrant in the summer. We will spend the night in Shigatse.

In the morning, we will explore the residence of the Panchen Lama, known as Tashilunpo Monastery. Following this visit, we will depart from Shigatse after obtaining your Alien's travel permit and proceed to Lhatse, a quaint town where lunch will be served. After our meal, we will traverse Tsola Pass (4600m) and Gyatsola Pass (5248m). Shortly thereafter, as we enter the Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve, travelers will have the opportunity to admire the breathtaking views of the Himalayas from Gawula Pass (5198m). We will then navigate the newly constructed winding road leading to Everest Base Camp (5200m), where you can get a closer look at the majestic peak of Mt. Everest. If time and weather allow, you may witness the stunning sunset illuminating the golden peak of Everest from our lodging area. We will spend the night in a guesthouse.

In the morning, weather permitting, we will have the opportunity to witness the sunrise over Everest Peak from our lodging area. As we make our way to Saga, you will be able to see the world’s 14th highest peak, Mt. Shishapangma (8012m), along with the stunning Turquoise Lake Peiku Tso (4590m). If fortune smiles upon us, we may also encounter wildlife such as wild donkeys and wild antelopes. We will spend the night at a local hotel.

Traveling to Darchen offers an opportunity to admire the breathtaking views of the Saga Valley nestled between the Gangdise and Himalayan Ranges. Along the journey, you will also encounter picturesque grasslands and local villages. As we traverse the Mayomla Pass (5112m), the magnificent sight of Mt. Naimonanyi (7694m) will be a highlight. Our route will take us past the sacred Lake Manasarovar, leading us to the southern base of Mt. Kailash, revered as the holiest mountain in Tibet. Overnight accommodation will be provided in a local hotel.

Darchen is the major administrative hub of Kailash region with basic development in infrastructure and facility. It is also considered as the base camp of Mt. Kailash from where the circumambulation around Kailash begins. If time permits you can stroll around small market of Darchen. Time free to relax and prepare for the trek on following day
In the morning, we will take an eco-bus from Darchen to Sarshung Valley. Upon arrival at Sarshung village, we will meet the Yaks and porters. Please note that the costs for hiring yaks, horses, and porters are not included in the package. Following this, we will commence our trek of approximately 13 kilometers from Sarshung to Drirapuk Monastery, traversing the scenic Lachu Valley and its rivers. Today, you will have the opportunity to admire both the west and north faces of Mount Kailash. Our day will conclude with a visit to Drirapuk Monastery, where we will stay overnight in a guest house.

Today, we will embark on a trek across Dromala Pass, which stands at an elevation of 5630 meters, making it the highest pass of the Kora. Along the route, there will be an opportunity to rest at a teahouse. As we descend, you will witness local Tibetans performing prostrations along the Kora path and enjoy the stunning views of Kadoe Lake. We may also have the chance to visit Zutulpuk Monastery. Overnight accommodation will be provided in a guesthouse.

Shiva Tsal (Shiva Sthal) : Here pilgrims usually leave there belongings such as clothing, ornaments or a drop of blood or a lock of hair to represent the act of leaving this life behind and wishing for the end of a miserable life.
Riding on horse / pony : Please note, to avoid risk, it is advisable that the travelers riding on horse / pony should not sleep while riding on horse/pony as it may be risky. If possible, they should preferably consider to walk in such risky surface especially while coming down from Dolma La Pass.
On the third day of the kora, you will embark on a 7km trek to Zongto, where you can catch a bus to Darchen. Throughout the kora, you will encounter numerous piles of Mani Stones. The trek will conclude around noon, allowing time to relax at the lodging. You will spend the night in a local guest house.

Today's itinerary will highlight the significant sites surrounding the Guge Kingdom, including Tirthapuri Monastery, Tsaparang, and the Dungkar Cave City. The region, currently referred to as Tsamda County, was historically known as the Guge Kingdom, with its capital situated in Toling. The Toling Monastery, established by Richen Zangpo in the 10th century, was once the most prominent monastic complex in Ngari. Thanks to Richen Zangpo's influence, Toling emerged as the primary religious hub of the Guge Kingdom, particularly after the arrival of the esteemed Indian master Atisha. The Guge kings later shifted the political center to a location closer to the Indo-Tibetan trade routes. Nevertheless, the monastery remains a vital cultural heritage site in Ngari. Overnight accommodation will be provided in a guest house.
